Bhatti Vikramarka to chair meeting

The Telangana Government will hold an all-party meeting on Wednesday to discuss the impact of El Nino, the rainfall deficit and drought conditions in the State.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will chair the meeting, which will be held at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat here.

The meeting would discuss measures to reduce the impact of the weather conditions and the rainfall deficit on people and farmers.

The government would seek suggestions from political party leaders on drinking water supply, water resource conservation, power supply for irrigation, and an alternative crop plan.

It would also take their views on strategies to tackle the drought and the measures needed to mitigate the crisis.
